About

I’m currently a Ph.D. student in the Media Technology and Society program in the School of Communication at Northwestern University. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I’ve lived in Chicago nine of the past ten years. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2001 with a major in anthropology and minors in photography and English. I studied abroad in Rome, Italy for one semester (Spring 1999), and Quepos, Costa Rica for a summer (2000). I finished the masters program in communication at UIC in 2006. I’ve held various jobs, including ethnographic research assistant at a technology consultancy, grant writer for a community organization, technical writer for an IT department, and web designer / information architect.
In addition to technology and research I like cooking (vegetarian), and doing things outside, like jogging, riding my bike or walking up to the roof of my building. I often listen to Chicago Public Radio, ambient electronica, classical guitar, and lots of other things.
I married Jim Trevino in 2005.
