job

I still can’t quite believe it - but I’ve just accepted a full-time position. It was by far the fastest hiring process I’ve ever been through. I emailed my resume at about 10:00 Monday, scheduled the interview for Tuesday, and by 1:00 Tuesday I had an offer. I signed the paperwork today and I start this Tuesday, right after Labor Day.

I’m not sure how blog-able the job is so I won’t mention names, but it’s an established company here in Chicago. The main role seems to be to understand the IT help desk and help them to do their jobs better by writing up documentation, being a liaison with management and the wider company on their behalf, and discovering their needs proactively. Also, teaching classes about the technology they use in-house. It sounds right up my alley so I’m very happy about it.
