Site Redesign
For those who just read the feed, I’ve redesigned the look of the blog. It’s a modified version of the Hemingway theme. I’m finally pretty happy with the layout of it, but I’m interested in your comments - particularly if it looks bad in your browser or screen resolution (I believe I fixed the issue with vertical monitors so it should scale down to 764 okay.). The colors may need some adjustments.
The process of redesigning made me think about how past entries change along with the new ones. That is, all of my old posts now conform to the new design, which, from the design perspective, is great. From a research or historical perspective this is a loss of original context. It’s always been an issue, write web content and I guess that’s the point of the internet archive.
With dynamic web sites it’s difficult to harvest the info at one time as a method. I captured delicious accounts, but it’s difficult to say with much certainty that people add posts to delicious at this rate or add tags at that rate - unless you have truly longitudinal data.
