Del.icio.us Men?
After reading through my backlogged feed of many-2-many I was inspired to post an interesting “finding” from my pilot study. Finding is in quotes because it’s just a description, and my sample size was 70–laughable to generalize to 90,000 delicious users, although not so laughable to generalize to the delicious mailing list - the only place I recruited for this test-run of my survey. So here it is:

Now, to find more men than women is not surprising, but 92.5%? I grant that this is clearly a geekie population, but am I wrong to think that women have made more than a 10% inroad to geekdom? It could be just a fluke, but it does raise some questions about the role of gender in this system, particularly as the list seems to serve as a test for design ideas and the like. (Much more to come on the pilot study.)
